Summertime, Part II, Swim lessons & misc.

After we got back from Utah the kids started swim lessons. I absolutely love swim lessons. We spend so much time in the water that it just puts my mind at ease knowing my kids know how to get to the wall if they need to. Our city does a 2 week class and I put all 3 kids in. Here's the run down of how each of them did; Dallin of course did awesome. He's such a good swimmer and just enjoys being in the water. His class was all about technique. His teacher this year was Gina. He has decided that he wants to join a swim team.
Aubrey did amazing the first week. Once her teacher (Nikki) made her learn how to come up for air on her own she kind of freaked. It was hilarious! She totally knows how to swim and can make it across the whole pool, but for some reason she didn't like not having something to grab on to to take a breath. I guess she's my cautious one.
Liam cried the whole first week. Not just cried, screamed! But he willingly went back every day. The first day of week 2 something changed and he had a smile on his face the whole time. He LOVED it! And he totally learned how to swim, thanks to Miss Kara (the best teacher ever!) He can't manage to come up to take a breath, but he can jump in and swim to me, or turn around and swim to the wall.
All of the kids jumped off the diving board with no problem. (Although Aubs had to be thrown off her first time but after that she willingly jumped numerous times) We all have so much fun during swim lessons and I'm always sad when they are over.
We also squeezed in a beach trip before Glenn had to go back to work, and celebrated Liam's 3rd birthday (more on him later). Oh, and I can't forget 4th of July! We went to Glenn's sister, Cyndi's, house for a BBQ & fireworks and had a fabulous time. (but I did forget the camera)
I'm sure I have mentioned how much I love summertime. We are having a blast! My sister, Brooke, is here with her 4 boys and we have been playing like mad! Beach days, Chuck E Cheese, swimming, swimming and more swimming and the next 2 weeks are packed with fun! Man, I'm going to be exhausted!

Liam quotes

Since I haven't gotten around to updating our happenings, I at least wanted to post a couple quotes from him. He is seriously a hilarious kid! I really enjoy listening to him and hearing his thoughts and how his mind works. He is so smart and can comprehend so much. Not that these quotes show how smart he is, but just thought I would add that. Quote #1: At the Dr. office for his 3 year physical getting an immunization. With a very inquisitive look on his face he looks at me, then the nurse and asks "Why did you just put a whole in my arm?" No tears or anything, he just wanted to know why she would do that. Quote #2: We went out to dinner last night. Liam was watching a baby girl play with her mom and I asked if he was excited to have a little sister to play with like that one. He said "yes, but then I want her to go away." I thought it was funny when he said it, I just hope his opinion of his baby sister changes once she's here.

Summertime! Part 1, Utah trip

The week after Dallin's birthday we had a great visit from Glenn's parents and a bunch of the kids cousins from Hurricane & St. George. Somehow I managed to not take 1 picture during the visit, but we had a great time! The week after they left we headed up their way to Hurricane. We stayed there 2 nights then Glenn & I left the kids there and headed up to Park City where we would stay 2 nights until Glenn's "Spartan Beast" race and head back to rescue Grammy and Aunt Shawna and stay for 1 more night. We had such an amazing trip, although we did have to drive through the smoke of one of the wildfires both ways. It was so nice just going for walks and shopping and in Park City. We ate at fun, trendy places and just enjoyed the beauty of Park City. We also went to Heber to visit with my Doula (from Aubs & Liam's births) and her family which we hadn't seen since Liam was a newborn.
As for Glenn's race he did amazing, as expected. It was 12 miles in the mountains with 25 obstacles and he finished in 3 hours and 14 minutes. He really enjoyed it, but said he could definitely feel the altitude.
Back at Grammy & Grampa's we had a little, early b-day party for Liam before we had a to leave.
Per request, here's me at 20ish weeks pregnant. Side-note: I had my diagnostic ultrasound a few weeks back and this little girl was wiggling and doing somersaults the whole time. The tech was amazed at how much she was moving, but I could tell was getting a little frustrated because she couldn't get a good picture of her heart. At my Dr.'s appointment right after the ultrasound we were told that we need to have another ultrasound because they couldn't get a picture of all 4 chambers of the heart. (but Glenn and I are both pretty sure we saw 4 chambers and aren't worried) So we go back on Thursday for another ultrasound & Dr.'s appointment.
