New Years Eve

For New Years Eve we took some friends of ours up to my Dad's cabin in Big Bear. Luckily it had snowed the day before we headed up so there was some to play in. The cabin has the best driveway and empty lot nextdoor that we made 2 different sled runs on. My kids spent hours sledding. We had beautiful sunny weather and clear blue skies. I love going up there. Liam & Lizzy (the 2 babies) were both sick, which made the nights pretty miserable, but somehow I was fine running on no sleep. (that would never happen at home)
We let the kids stay up until 9 to see the ball drop and have a little celebration to ring in the new year. Then the adults (and tweens) played games until midnight. I can't believe I made it to midnight. That rarely happens these days. Well we had a great time with great friends.
(Note: Glenn wore that hideous Norwegian sweater only because I can't stand it.)

Christmas 2010

I think it's about time to catch up on our holiday festivities. We had a wonderful Christmas this year. This was the first year I didn't come down with a debilitating flu on Christmas Eve in 3 years. Oh it felt so good putting all the finishing touches together for Christmas morning. But lets start with Christmas Eve...
We had our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve at my parents house. My mom put together a great little message and gave us all gratitude journals with the challenge to write in them this year. I just started writing in it and I LOVE it. I feel much more positive and observant to the little things in life. Anyway, we had a great night. The kids loved opening their presents and, as always, the food was impeccable.

We went home and opened up some pajamas (I made the bottoms) and tracked Santa. Dallin sprinkled some oats and glitter on the grass to help the reindeer find their way.

All Christmas day we spent with just our little family of 5. We started by opening presents, which is always great fun. Glenn got me a Garmin forerunner 305 which is an amazing running watch. If I even try to explain how cool it is and all the functions it can do I will be blogging for days. The kids were very excited to play with all their new toys too. Then I made some Pumpkin Waffles with Cinnamon Cream syrup that was to die for. We pretty much spent the day playing and snacking on cheese, crackers, fruits and veggies. We ended the night by walking through an amazing neighborhood to see the Christmas lights. It was awesome spending it with just us and being able to relax and enjoy each other.

I had a few fun things planned to do Christmas day that we didn't have time to do, but the next couple days we got it all done.
