Finally

I have been trying and trying to get pictures of Aubrey smiling without success. Everytime she'd be in a smiley mood, I'd run & get the camera, and by the time I returned, she was done. But this morning, I succeeded!!! Here's the results. I also have a video of her, but don't know how to post them.

Christmas Lights

One of our favorite things to do at Christmas time is check out the lights. This past week we had the opportunity to go out on my Dad's boat and see the lights off Long Beach Bay and around Naples Island. It was really cool seeing these million dollar houses and yachts decorated with all kinds of Christmas (some Hanukkah) stuff. Dallin's favorite house was the "Treasure Island" house with pirates. It started him singing "Yo ho, yo ho a pirates life for me" for the rest of the night.

We also went to the LA Temple to show Dallin the lights. He loves the temple, and to add lights to it was the icing on the cake for him. For some reason he really did not want his picture taken. Below is a picture of Dallin scolding me for trying to take his picture. (notice the boots? he's obsessed and has to wear them everywhere)

Then, finally he would allow his picture to be taken, but only with this statue. He said he wanted them to be his new family. What's that supposed to mean????

We love the Christmas season and are looking forward to being with family and friends (and seeing more lights.)

Aubrey's first bath!

On Aubrey's 3 week birthday her belly button thingy finally fell off, which means....bath time! Finally I got to soak my stinky baby. Sponge baths just don't cut it. (not like I had given her all that many) Aubrey has been a very smiley baby since we brought her home from the hospital. What can I say, my child is advanced. Anyway, she was all smiles during bath time. Of course we didn't catch any really good pictures, but I thought I'd share the best ones. Aubrey has been so much fun, and such a great addition to our family. She has been sleeping about 6-7 hours straight for the last few nights, but I'm sure that won't last too much longer. We took her to church for the first time today and she was an absolute angel. Not one peek came out of her. Well, I take that back, she likes to grunt and humm in her sleep, but that was the extent of her noise making. We love her so much, and are so happy she's big and healthy!

Playing catch-up

It seems like forever since I did my last blog post, but it's only been a little over a week. This past week has been a pretty great week, with the exception of Glenn going back to work Friday. I was able to take Dallin to the park to play, do some shopping, take Aubrey to her 2 week check up, celebrate family birthdays and take Dallin to Hullabaloos.(a really fun indoor park with a huge blow-up slide and tree house and all kinds of stuff for him and Glenn to play on) Needless to say I'm feeling great!!!!

Glenn & Dallin played for hours and still didn't want to leave.

Aubrey had her 2 week check up on Wednesday and everything looks great. She weighed in at 9lbs 2oz and is in the 95% for height and weight. She is such a sweet baby, sleeps really well, and only cries a little when she's hungry. She already gives me huge open mouth smiles when I talk to her & is very alert when I walk in the room. And Dallin has been a big help by getting me diapers and putting her pacifier back in her mouth when it falls out. Although he would sometimes be the cruel older brother and pull it out of her mouth, but I think he's out grown that. We love having Aubrey here and it definately seems like it has been more than 2 1/2 weeks.

We also took the kids to get their picture taken with Santa. Dallin was so excited, jumped right up on Santa's lap and said "Santa, Buzz Lightyear". This picture was taken right before we left for the mall.
