Squirrels, rain and a Space Derby

The rain has finally come! They're calling it El NiƱo again, and after today's rain I'm hoping it keeps up. It's been great! Yesterday Reese and I went shopping and I just had to document it because she was being so silly. I was walking down one isle and Reese told me she has rainbows in her mouth. I asked her "rainbows in your mouth?" And she said "yep! In my cheeks!" then puffed her cheeks up. It cracked me up, and another lady in the isle found it amusing too.
Last night we had Dallin's Space Derby which he was really excited about. He ended up getting 3rd place (he got robbed!) and was excited about it. But in his smart brain he was calculating the number of times the rockets raced and the points given and he realized he should have gotten at least 2nd place, if not first. So he was a little bummed about that, but still excited to get a medal.
We've been having issues with squirrels getting into our trash and feasting. At one point yesterday the kids saw 4 squirrels out there. We've had so much trash (because of Christmas) that it hasn't fit into the can, but once we cleaned it up the squirrels were searching for a way to get into the can. Hopefully they don't chew through it again.

Back to school after Christmas

Today was the first day back at school for the kids after Christmas break. We were all dragging a bit this morning and since Liam is in afternoon Kindergarten he got to snuggle up with Reese.
Notice that they are laying on a mini trampoline. Comfy, right? That was Reese's Christmas present from Santa this year and she has been obsessed with it.  It's her own little space that she can control who comes on and off. She'll even set up her snack or meal on it to eat. She spends a lot more time on it than I ever would have thought.
Tomorrow is the Cub Scout Space Derby, so naturally it's crunch time and Glenn and Dallin are working hard to get a rocket put together. I love seeing Glenn work on things with the kids.
Today Aubrey came home from school with a certificate for perfect attendance. She said she had the "best day ever" at school today. She didn't even argue when I told her to get her homework done. I hope this new attitude continues!
Maybe she was just excited to get out and do something since we didn't do much over break since I was sick. (Other than go to Utah for a few days)

Sunday happenings

While Glenn and I are watching the Bronco game, and Reese is napping, I noticed that the older 3 kids were playing "Sorry" so well together. They have gotten much better about playing well together, especially with board games and I wanted to document it. Of course as soon as I head over to take a picture Liam starts crying about something not being fair, or something. So here's my attempt at remembering my kids playing well together. Oh well.
