Here's a brief list of our happenings from the last day in May to the middle of June... I turned 31, Dallin turned 6, Dallin finished kindergarten and is now a big 1st grader, Aubrey completed joy school (for this year), Dallin finished baseball and Aubrey and Dallin started swim lessons. Is that all? I feel like I'm missing something. Oh, I ran the Fontana half marathon, which made me never want to run another half marathon because my body still hurt 3 weeks later. But it's kinda like child birth where after time you forget how hard it was and want to do it again, so I probably will end up running more. Whew! Those were some busy times. And more busy times will be in the next post where I catch us up to today.
My birthday: Birthdays seem to get less exciting the older you get. At least for me. But it was still fun to go out with Glenn and the kids. We had dinner at Spaghetti Factory and watched trains go by after we finished eating. Then headed home for some cake & presents. Glenn ordered a cake from Beverly's Best bakery that was heavenly and I got my Flip video camera that I still need to learn what to do with the videos once they have been recorded. But it was a great birthday and I love my little family!
Dallin's 6th birthday: We had a little family party on Dallin's actual birthday but he kept bugging me to have a party with his friends. So I threw a last minute party together with the blow-up slides and the Wii. That's all Dallin wanted. And it was perfect. The kids played for hours and I didn't have to do anything but make sure nobody died. Everyone had a great time.
Dallin's end of the year Ho-Down: Dallin really loves to perform which really makes the lame little kindergarten performances entertaining. He did great performing the end of the year stuff and really got into it. He cracks me up. But what was really great about the Ho-Down is that I got a video of a kid barfing in the circle. It was awesome and Glenn couldn't contain his excitement. Yes, I know. We need to grow up. But really, if you saw the video, you'd love it too.
Aubrey's Joy School end of the year party: It was so much fun. There was a little bounce house and another blow up slide, a trampoline and just tons of fun for the kids. Tons of the Dad's showed up too which was great fun too. I didn't get many pictures, but here are the 2 I got.
Swim lessons: Both Dallin and Aubrey did amazing. They are little fish and can both totally swim (although Aubs is afraid to come up for air for some reason). Both of them passed their course after the first session, which is pretty cool and kinda a big deal. Not many kids do that. But they had fun and I loved watching them learn and now enjoy that they can both swim at our pool.
