I made it through all of winter without any illnesses, but the last 2 weeks has been one after the other. As I type this I'm dreaming of Nyquil, even though I won't be able to take it because I have a long run in the morning and there would be no chance of me getting out of bed after taking it. However chances of me crashing and burning on my run seem high, but I pretty much don't have any option if I want to run the Fontana half marathon on June 4th. So, if you see me laying on the side of the road tomorrow just leave me. I'll be fine.
Well, I guess I'm catching up on 2 weeks now. Week 1 (2 weeks ago) was full of fun. My friend Amber came down from Idaho and it's always a party when she's here. We had a park day with at least 15 of our mom friends. It was great. The next day we went to the pool because it was like 100 degrees out. And on Friday of that week we went to the flag ceremony at Dallin's school because he was receiving the Principal's award for February, which was for Respect. I'm so proud of him and the little gentleman he is. I wasn't surprised at all that he would get the award for Respect. He is such a kind, polite little guy. It was "crazy day" at his school that day, so he wore different shoes and spiked his hair. He thought it was so cool. On Saturday we took the kids to Home Depot for the kids workshop that we love. We thought it was time Liam got his apron and started his own projects. Well, he's still a bit young and I ended up doing his project. Then we went home and planted some tomatoes and basil and flowers on our patio. The kids LOVE digging in the dirt and were total messes afterward. On Saturday night Glenn DJ-ed our friend Ryan's surprise birthday party. Can I just say that he was the hottest DJ around? It was such a fun party and he played such fun dance music. I think I danced for 2 hours straight. It was a great workout and seriously more fun than I have had in a long time.
As for this week, it was my first week of "training" for the half marathon. And with coming down with about 20 (or 3) different illnesses it has been quite difficult to run. But I have done it so far. I am worried about tomorrow's 7 miler, I just hope I'm not congested when I wake up in the morning. Well, this week was spring break so we had Dallin home with us, which was a bit crazy, but could have been avoided if I had the energy to create a fun-filled spring break. But instead we stayed home a bit, but did get out to the park once on a freezing cold day. And today we headed to a friends house for a little orientation for Aubrey to start Joy School. I am so excited for it! Not to teach it, but for Aubrey to actually have something to do. She is going to love it! Well, now I'm going to attempt to watch Step Up 3 with Glenn and hope that I make it through the first 7 minutes without falling asleep. A pretty ambitious goal, I know.
*Note: I survived the 7 mile run, and even a 9 miler this past Saturday. And I stayed awake for the whole movie, a HUGE accomplishment!
