Happy 5 years!!!!!

Glenn and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary yesterday, and I have to say it was one of the best dates we've gone on. We had my mom take the kids ALL day. We started off doing a session at the LA Temple (where we were married exactly 5 years ago, and even on a Friday) It was such a beautiful, warm day, just like our wedding day. Brought back so many fun memories. We had planned to go to the Getty, but got out of the temple too late, so we skipped the Getty, ate at Baja fresh, and headed up Mulhulland Dr. I had never been to this tourist spot, but it was really nice, with a great view. Our camera is a piece, so don't judge on the quality of pictures. We will be getting a new one soon. And the quality of the camera makes me look like I'm gaining weight, but of course it's not the case in real life. hehe

It took us a good 1 1/2 hours to get home. We freshened up & headed to dinner at Bubba Gumps. Shrimp Louis was hanging out & we wanted to get a picture with him. The worker lady with him offered to take the pic. This is the first picture she took. Then she says "the light was shining, so move over here & I'll take another on"
So she takes this one and says "Perfect"......right!
Glenn had a surprise planned for after dinner, and I was so excited because usually I can figure out what he's planning, but I really had no idea this time. So we headed out toward Long Beach. When we got off the freeway it him me! He was taking me on a Gondola! I have always wanted to go on one. We got there a little early, and they had the best atmosphere for us to wait in. There was classical music playing, the only lights around where the strands of Christmas lights (see pics) and it was so quiet & beautiful out. So we had a photo shoot...



We were on the Gondola for about an hour. The Gondolier would sing to us at different times during the ride. It was so calm and peaceful out. We only saw like 1 or 2 other boats. We went through the different water ways in Naples and looked at all the super nice houses with boats docked in front. We had Sparkling Pomegranate cider and bread & cheese. It was great! I'm not going to get sappy on here, but I am definitely grateful for Glenn and our last 5 years of a wonderful marriage. Here's to eternity!!!!

It has taken me a week to upload this picture, but here is Dean & Holly with their beautiful twin boys, Brysen (with Dean) & Caeden (with Holly). They are such a cute family and we are so excited for them!!!! Congrats you guys!!!!!

Sunday gas

Can I just tell everyone how much I love this girl! I love watching her grow, learn and throw attitude better than any teenage girl. She is so much fun.

Now, to the point of this blog. Have you ever been sitting in church during the sacrament, when it's completely silent, and some kid belches loud enough for the WHOLE chapel to hear? Well, this past Sunday it was our delicate little flower. I'm not exaggerating, the WHOLE chapel heard it. And it wasn't just a little baby burp. It came from the diaphram. The 2nd counselor in our bishopric texted his son (who was sitting next to us ) to "tell the Sorensens to keep it down" (he was joking, of course) And after church, at my parents house, we were talking about it and my whole family said "THAT WAS AUBREY?!?!?!?" They had obviously heard it, however couldn't figure out how something so loud could come from MY little girl.

I guess I'm just greatful that I am so comfortable in our ward that I could find more humor in it that embarrassment. And I'm thankful that the toots that followed the burp were only heard by people sitting within a row or 2 of us.

Espanol

Lately Dallin has been telling me that he is learning Spanish. It kinda cracks me up that he understands that there is a difference in languages. It also cracks me up because I have limited his computer and tv use to only 10-20 minutes a day. (with the exception of 1 movie if he does his chores). So, I didn't really think he was learning spanish.
The other day we were driving to our friends house for dinner and Dallin says "which way are we going to go? abajo?" Keep in mind I know very few spanish words, but I know what left & right are in spanish, so I told him, no, we are going left. And he kept telling me we were going abajo. We got to our friends house, who happen to all speak spanish, so I asked them what he was saying. Apparently he was saying we were going down. Which was correct, we were going down a hill. I was quite shocked.
Also, when we walked in to their house Dallin flashed his gang signs and said "Arriba!"
So this morning he was pretending to be a door, and wanted me to walk to him and say "abre" which apparently means "open".
Those are the only ones that I can remember, but he has been dropping random Spanish words left and right. I'm just trying to figure out where he's coming up with these. He must be remembering Dora episodes that he watched during my first trimester when I would turn the tv on for him and crash on the couch.

Twinners! and..........

I was able to visit my good friend Holly in the hospital yesterday. She had her twin boys on Sunday night. I do have to say that they are the smallest, and cutest newborns I have ever seen. I had such a good visit with them. Holly is amazing. She had a c-section, and yesterday was walking around, getting up like it was not big deal, seeming like everything's fine. I sat there for a good while just holding the little guys. It's was awesome, and I can even tell them apart already.

So, the lame person that I am, forgot my camera. I'm going to see them again on Friday, so I'll make sure to post pics after that. Dallin can't wait to "play with Holly's babies".

Anywho, while I was there, and Holly was feeling fine, she grabbed an ultrasound machine to see if we could find out what I'm having. (fyi: Holly is a Labor and Delivery nurse, and we were at the hospital she works at) After just a couple minutes we could definately tell what the sex is! I will be having my ultrasound with my Dr. in about 3 weeks, but it's kinda fun getting a sneak peek.

Playing

We have been having the most beautiful weather here in So Cal. It's been a lot of fun getting the kids outside. We have all been dealing with colds (mine just happened to turn into bronchitis, which seems like it's never going to completely go away. Although the anit-biotics have helped tremendously. Why is it that when you are already dealing with pregnancy, any illness you get quadruples in severity?) which has limited our play, but we have had fun none the less.
It is impossible to get a picture of her smiling at the camera. Guess who won the race? No, She is not wearing lip gloss.
And when the weather is so wonderful, what better thing to do than go inside and ice skate...

We went with the Mommy and Me class, and had a blast. I usually hate ice skating, but really enjoyed it this time.
Aubrey was just laughing and laughing watching them skate.


They had these little chairs that would slide all over the ice. The kids loves being pushed around on them. Glenn decided to get Aubs in on the fun, which is when I finally got on the ice and skated for a few minutes. We had a blast, but right now as I'm posting this Dallin is informing me that he didn't have fun on the ice. What a lie!

Our Sunbeam

This probably should have been posted about 4 days ago, but I guess it's better late than ever. Dallin is now officially a Sunbeam. We had been talking about how he gets to go to his "big boy class" and he was so excited, but when the time came to go, he didn't want to. Thankfully, my mom was just called into the primary presidency, and was able to sit with him the whole time. By classtime, he had totally warmed up and decided he liked it. Hopefully this Sunday will be a bit easier.
Dallin is the sweetest little "big" boy ever. He is always making sure everyone is okay, and is always willing to help. He loves his little sister and wants to take care of her. He has a new fascination with quarters and realizes that is he saves enough he can buy something cool. He LOVES to talk to anyone and everyone. The UPS man knows him by name and calls him his "little helper". He is growning and learning so fast, I can't believe he's this old already. We love Dallin so much. He brings so much life to our family.
